Logassa Sutra

                                                                Logassa Sutra

A sutra is a collection of lines or aphorisms. This popular, ancient prayer, named by its first word, Logassa or “universe”, praises the 24 tirthankaras (liberated souls) and humbly requests them for good health, right knowledge and ultimate liberation.

“You are purer than the moon”
The pure, white moon-glow illuminates the words amidst the blue sky.
Chandesu nimmalayara:

“You are radiant and brighter than the sun”
The brilliant, golden sun imparts knowledge.
Ayechesu ahiyam payasayra:

“You are calmer and deeper than the ocean”
The letters are floating atop the sea-green water generating a message of equanimity.
Sagarvar gambhira:

“Liberated souls lead me to enlightenment”
This line is painted in red, the color traditionally representing Liberated souls.
Siddha siddhim mum disantu:

The central figure of Liberated soul portrays the focus of the sutra. The twenty-four point infinity icon at the bottom symbolizes the eternal existence of the twenty-four tirthankaras.
